Matthew Hunt

Matthew Hunt was born and raised in the Port Richmond/Fishtown section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he attended the local parish school and received a Catholic education throughout grade school, high school, and college. From an early age, service to others and community involvement became central pillars of his personal and professional life.

Throughout his youth and early adulthood, Matthew was heavily involved in volunteerism and community engagement, including leading Friends of Konrad Square Park initiatives and participating in extensive community service efforts across Philadelphia. That passion for service naturally evolved into a career largely centered around nonprofit and mission-driven organizations.

Matthew began his professional career working within the nonprofit sector, supporting organizations focused on education access, poverty relief, housing assistance, financial literacy, and community development. Over the years, he has worked alongside organizations serving low-income families, individuals facing financial hardship, and underserved communities throughout the Philadelphia region. His experience has included supporting education accessibility initiatives, community assistance, weatherization programs, financial empowerment services, and nonprofit financial operations and consulting.

Today, Matthew is an accomplished accounting and finance professional with nearly two decades of experience spanning nonprofit organizations, public accounting, and corporate finance leadership. He currently serves in a senior accounting leadership role within the healthcare and insurance industry, where he oversees complex financial operations, process improvement initiatives, and organizational strategy.

Despite transitioning into corporate leadership, Matthew has remained deeply committed to service-oriented work and community impact. His appointment as Treasurer reflects both his professional expertise and longstanding dedication to helping vulnerable and underserved populations. He is passionate about using his financial and operational experience to help strengthen organizations whose missions focus on dignity, advocacy, and support for individuals in need.

Why Auxilium Payee Services?

For me, this was a natural fit and an easy decision. When I was approached about becoming involved, it was honestly a no-brainer. Service-oriented work has always been important to me, both personally and professionally, and Auxilium’s mission is one that truly hits home. I have special needs individuals in my life who, without strong support systems, advocacy, and programs like Auxilium, could easily be vulnerable to financial exploitation or taken advantage of. Organizations like this provide protection, dignity, stability, and guidance to people who genuinely need it most. Being able to contribute my financial and operational experience toward a mission that directly impacts vulnerable individuals and families is something I am incredibly proud to be part of.
